FAT32, NTFS, HFS+ and exFAT are four common file formats. Mac and Win 7/8/10 can only support FAT32 and exFAT. We propose you formatting your StoreJet to FAT32 or exFAT in order to work on Windows and Mac OS.
The following is the brief introduction of FAT32, NTFS, HFS+ and exFAT.
FAT32: has the best compatibility with the most systems including the general multimedia players, but is limited to transferring a single file under 4GB.
NTFS: the standard file system for Windows.
HFS+: the primary file system for Mac.
exFAT: is not constrained to a single file under 4GB, but not supported by many older systems.
Comparison of file systems between Mac and Windows:
Note:
1.If you format your hard drive to exFAT on Windows, the "Allocation Unit Size" should be equal to or less than 1024KB.
2.If you format your hard drive to exFAT on Mac, there is no such restriction.
